Virtua is proud to participate in the inaugural Hand Hygiene Improvement Project from The Joint Commission’s new Center for Transforming Health Care -- joining seven other national healthcare leaders in the effort.  By applying the rigor of Virtua’s Six Sigma toolbox, the team will address a national issue -- insufficient hand hygiene in the hospital setting that results in the transmission of pathogens and infections.  The Hand Hygiene project is an ideal fit with Virtua’s strategic imperatives: to improve and sustain patient safety and clinical quality, through evidence-based practices and a zero tolerance for Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI’s).
